Public Lands
I continue to believe that Wyoming needs to pass a law related to the decision made by the Tenth Circuit Court related to corner crossing. We need landowners, sportsmen, the agriculture industry, and the public to come together understanding that corner crossing is currency legal in Wyoming and if all parties work together on this complex issue we can lead the nation in developing a statute that allows the public to responsibly and respectfully access their public land . Property rights only work when they’re clearly defined and consistently applied, and I’ll continue to support practical solutions that protect those rights while bringing certainty to everyone involved.
Public lands are not only foundational to our heritage and way of life in Wyoming, they are also our future. As chairman of the House Travel, Recreation, Wildlife & Cultural Resources committee, I’ve worked to keep decision-making closer to the people who rely on these lands every day. That’s why I co-sponsored SJ0009 - Keeping public lands protected and decisions local, ensuring public lands remain accessible, protected, and central to Wyoming’s identity for generations to come.
